Route 7 was drawn in 2022 to serve two housing colonies at the edge of the catchment. On paper it looked efficient. In practice the first child boarded at 6:05am and reached school at 7:50am.
How a badly designed transport route added forty minutes to eleven children's mornings, and what fixing it cost.
Splitting the route meant buying a bus and hiring a driver and an attendant. We did it in the middle of the academic year rather than waiting for a clean start, because eleven children were losing forty minutes a day, twice.
