Devices go into the house office at 9:30pm and come back at 6:45am. Weekend afternoons are open. That is the whole policy, and it took three revisions to get there.
The phone policy parents ask about most, written out in full, including where we have compromised.
Version one was a total ban. It failed within a month: students borrowed handsets, and the borrowing was harder to supervise than the phones. Version two allowed unrestricted evenings, and sleep data from the infirmary got worse. The current version is a compromise that both students and house parents describe as liveable.
